האנסמבל הקולי מיטב של הקונסרבטוריון העירוני למוזיקה ראש העין נוסד בשנת 2005 ומונה כ-18 נערות ונערים בגילאי 13-18. האנסמבל עובד במסגרת הקונסרבטוריון במרכז למוזיקה בראש העין ומנוהל על-ידי המנצחת והמנהלת המוזיקלית עידית קרימולובסקי-שופן.
חברי האנסמבל, המייצגים את כלל מגוון האוכלוסייה בראש העין, נפגשים לחזרות פעמיים בשבוע, ועם הצטרפותם מקבלים שיעורי פתוח קול, סולפז', האזנה ותורת המוזיקה, ושיעורים באמנות הביצוע ובהבעה בימתית.
רפרטואר האנסמבל נרחב וכולל מוסיקה קלאסית מתקופת הרנסנס ועד מוזיקה בת זמננו, יצירות ישראליות מקוריות, הזמר העברי לדורותיו, ועיבודים מקהלתיים לשירי ג'אז, בלוז ופופ.
אנסמבל מיטב מקיים שיתוף פעולה עם כוריאוגרפים ומוזיקאים אורחים, ומרבה להופיע בקהילה ומחוצה לה בכנסי מקהלות וסדנאות ועל במות מקצועיות.
האנסמבל הנו גוף הנתמך על-ידי הרשות המקומית, וכגוף הפועל בקונסרבטוריון העירוני מהווה חלק מאגף החינוך העירוני בעיריית ראש העין.
בשנתיים האחרונות זוכה האנסמבל להצלחה והכרה גם בקרב הקהל הרחב ובחוגים המקצועיים ומרבה להופיע בראש העין ומחוצה לה. במאי 2008 ייצג האנסמבל את רה''ע במסגרת שותפות 2000 בסיבוב הופעות בערים בירמינגהם וניו-אורלינס שבארה''ב.
ביולי 2008 אירח אנסמבל מיטב את מקהלת Collegiate Choral NY לסדנאות אמן וקונצרט משותף במסגרת פרויקט חילוף תרבויות.
ביוני 2009 מוזמן האנסמבל לסיבוב הופעות בפסטיבל למוסיקה בנוי-איזנבורג שבגרמניה, ובאוגוסט מוזמן אנסמבל מיטב לייצג את ישראל ב-Peace and Art Festival שבניו-יורק אותו מקיים ארגון שגרירי הידידות של האו''ם בבניין האומות המאוחדות.
The Meytav Vocal Ensemble is from the Israeli city of Rosh Haayin.
It was founded in 2005 by its present conductor and music director, Idit Krymolowski-Shopen, and in the following year became a member of the Israeli Choral Organization "Hallel". The ensemble is made up of 18 singers aged 13-18 years old who come together twice a week at the Rosh-Haayin Music Institute, Meytav’s home base.
Soon after its establishment the Meytav Vocal Ensemble became Rosh-Haayin's most celebrated vocal group. The group regularly performs at a variety of community events including major municipal ceremonies, and at concerts throughout Israel.
The young singers come from various social and economic backgrounds. They often join the group with no prior musical knowledge or education. They are motivated by their talent and have a deep sense of dedication to the art of music, and a desire to perform at the highest professional level. Once they are accepted into the group, the singers undertake a program of voice and language training, instrumental training, music theory and appreciation, and movement and drama.
The group often hosts well known artists: singers, choreographers and conductors, who share their artistry with Israel’s young generation of musicians through workshops and master classes at the Rosh Haayin Music Institute. The Meytav Vocal Ensemble also collaborates with other Israeli, Arab and international vocal groups in intercultural activities. In July 2008 Meytav hosted the New York Collegiate Chorale Youth Choir in a special joint workshop at the Institute.
Meytav`s repertoire is varied, and ranges from classical music to Israeli folk-songs, international folk-music, pop, jazz and blues classics, as well as contemporary classical and avant-guard works. Eager to explore new artistic ideas, Meytav often collaborates with aspiring young composers who write pieces especially for the group.
In May 2008 the Meytav Vocal Ensemble has toured the United States on its first international concert tour, followed by an invitation to perform in a music festival in Neu-Isenburg, Germany in June 2009 and in the annual Peace and Arts Festival of Frienship of Ambassadors Foundation at the UN New-York headquarters.
