במצב Modern הטקסט מתועתק לפי ההגייה הישראלית בת זמננו, ובמצב Sepharadic לפי ההגייה הספרדית המסורתית. ההבדלים ביניהם:
Modern follows modern Israeli pronunciation; Sepharadic follows traditional Sephardic pronunciation. They differ in these letters:

עיצורים סדקיים · Glottals
כשהאפשרות Glottals מסומנת, א (ובהגייה המודרנית גם ע) מתועתקת /ʔ/ ו-ה מתועתקת /h/. כשהיא אינה מסומנת, העיצורים האלה אינם מתועתקים.
With Glottals on, א (and ע in Modern pronunciation) is transcribed /ʔ/ and ה /h/. With it off, they are not transcribed.

אפשר להשתמש בכלי גם מתוך קוד, דרך API: בקשת GET עם טקסט עברי מנוקד בפרמטר text מחזירה את התעתיק כטקסט פשוט. ברירת המחדל היא הגייה מודרנית עם עיצורים סדקיים; script=sepharadic מעביר להגייה ספרדית, ו-glottals=false משמיט את העיצורים הסדקיים. בכתובת יש מקום לכ-1,500 תווים (כולל הניקוד). טקסט ארוך יותר, עד 20,000 תווים, שולחים ב-POST לאותה כתובת, עם אותם שדות בטופס.
The transcriber is also available as an API: a GET request with vowelized Hebrew in the text parameter returns the IPA as plain text. The default is Modern pronunciation with glottals; add script=sepharadic for Sephardic pronunciation and glottals=false to leave glottals out. The URL fits about 1,500 characters, niqqud included. For longer text, up to 20,000 characters, POST the same fields as a form to the same address.
